OPSIG Emblem Clothing

At our recent annual meeting in Detroit, several folks suggested we enter into the clothing business with our own line of OPSIG shirts. It is such a good idea I cannot believe we didn't think of it before! Our fellow LDSIG brethren have had shirts for quite some time - I guess it just follows that you have to design your layout before you can operate it. So I'm very pleased to announce the introduction and availability of the official OPSIG clothing line. Nike, eat your heart out! Don't be surprised if you see our logo on some famous athlete somewhere: OPERATIONS... JUST DO IT!

We have been very fortunate to have fellow modeler and OPSIG member Dave Houston around, the owner of Daylight Sales, Inc. Dave is a hard-core SP fan (hence the name Daylight) and can be frequently seen at NMRA train shows selling custom clothing products. Taking the new logo created by model railroader and DO art director Otto Vondrak, we have worked with Daylight Sales to select shirts and bib aprons to have the OPSIG emblem embroidered in full color. In addition, we have waist aprons that have our OPSIG letters screened across the front (not embroidered in this case since it would ruin the pockets).

To order, contact Dave or one of his sales people and tell them you are with the OPSIG and they will pull up the appropriate forms with the clothing style, color and logo information. All you need to do is give him your size and number of garments requested; he will take care of the rest. All clothing is hunter green, with the logo in full color (white, yellow, green, red and black) on the top left. You can add your name to the top right for an additional charge. The shirts are a high quality 100% knit cotton, very comfortable and attractive. They are a high quality garment, NOT a light weight cheap shirt. They may be a bit heavy or warm for some layouts full of operators, so we also offer a T shirt option with a pocket for those who prefer that. Shipping: One shirt, one waist apron and one bib apron cost about $9.50 depending on your location. If you order more, the shipping costs will be adjusted for the weight.

The OPSIG set up this service and have granted Daylight Sales the use of our logo. You call, order, customize if you like, and pay them, which believe me makes your hard working and busy Board members VERY happy! I would like to thank Dave for his help and support (he is giving us quite a good deal, by the way - wait till you see the quality of the shirts). Ask him about his impressive SP layout under construction when you get him on the phone. Now that you have appropriate clothing, there is NO EXCUSE to not get out there and OPERATE!

Six months ago we introduced our official OPSIG clothing line, consisting of aprons (both bib and waist), polo shirts and T-shirts. All clothing came in forest green with the new full color OPSIG logo embroidered on the garments. From my discussions with Dave at Daylight Sales (our helpful supplier) we have enjoyed a successful launch and the demand for our brand and logo is starting to threaten the US trade deficit!

A problem developed recently, however - while riding to an op session on the motorcycle I notice that I was freezing. Now this WAS in January, so that shouldn't be a surprise, but my trusty OPSIG polo shirt just wasn't up to the task. A sweatshirt is what I needed! So to that end, behold the NEW OFFICIAL OPSIG SWEAT SHIRT!
