The Mashamou Valley & Western
Bob Davis
The Mashamou Valley & Western is a 40'x24' double level RR. It is freelanced in no particular part of the country as there is a coal mine, grain elevator and a harbor scene. Train movement is controlled by automatic block control. No dispatcher is used.
Car cards, reporting marks and car numbers are not used, instead switch lists are used and markers with car contents are placed on the roofwalks for switching. All boxcars are 40', engines are 1st and 2nd generation diesels controlled by NCE. Sound is by Soundtraxx.
Trains are assembled and disassembled at Applegate Yard, which is located midway between the east and west ends of the railroad. There are 2 yard men to handle train building duties. All trains are assembled and depart to 11 different manufacturing and commercial area to be switched.
